The <Create from> function, whose operation is described in the previous chapter, allows the creation of a document of the same type based on an existing document.
However, it is sometimes useful to create a document of different type from an existing document.
The new <Copy to a different type of object> function this need and allows data to be easily copied from one type of document to another.
This function is available in the application via the search filters presentation page and the search results page.
We are going to perform a copy of the object located in the family <Technical documents> to the family <Administrative documents>.

Select a < Technical
documents> family, o
Select the object you want to copy, o
Click on <Edit> / <Copy
to different item type>, |

A dialogue box opens and allows you to navigate through the database to select the family that is going to inherit the preselected object and its properties.

Once your selection has been made, click on the <Select> button The original document’s sheet is displayed as well as its modifiable properties |

Perform the changes or complete the sheet. o
Click on <Done> to
validate your sheet. |

Note If the original object has configurations or attachments, these are also listed and copied to the target object
